Post-doctoral Fellowships

Post-doctoral Fellowships

The group currently supports a number of post-doctoral positions through funding from external agencies such as the EPSRC and the Leverhulme Trust. At present all of these positions are filled; new vacancies are advertised as and when they become available on the departmental jobs webpage. In addition, there are several possible sources of funding to which applications can be made by the researcher themselves, and we are usually happy to help with the preparation of research ideas/proposals for such fellowships. Recent co-workers have had success in obtaining fellowships from the DFG, Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, Marie Curie, Talentia and NSERC programmes. Interested potential co-workers are more than welcome to contact Simon to discuss the possibilities for projects hosted in the group.

In total the Aldridge group has hosted 37 post-doctoral fellows in Cardiff and in Oxford. Twenty one former members of the group have gone on to achieve their own faculty positions at universities in the UK, Europe, Asia, North America and Australia, and others currently hold early career independent research fellowships after leaving the group. See links for a selection of these: Kays group (Nottingham/Cardiff), Siewert group (Göttingen), Hicks group (ANU), Campos group (Seville).
